Luis Huete holds a degree in Law, an MBA from IESE Business School and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Boston University. He was a Fulbright scholar and his dissertation on strategy in commercial banking services was named the best dissertation of the year in the United States in 1988. He worked as a researcher at Harvard Business School, where he developed scientific material and participated in a research project sponsored by Bell Communications.
He has been a professor at IESE Business School since 1982 and also taught in the Harvard Business School programs Achieving Breakthrough Service and Advanced Management. He has been a regular visiting professor in programs at ESMT (Germany), ISEM Fashion Business School (Spain), Lovaine (Belgium) and Deusto Business School (Spain), as well as other renowned business schools. He also collaborates with Bupa (United Kingdom), ISS (Denmark), Omnicom (United States) and Telefónica (Spain), among others.
He is the author of ten reference books on the management panorama in Spain and is a regular contributor to the business press. Luis is a renowned conference participant and has worked as a speaker, consultant and facilitator of senior management teams in more than 700 companies in 70 countries.
He has collaborated with CEOs to define organizational structure and corporate transformation projects at companies such as Banco Santander, BBVA, IBM, Oracle, McDonald’s, Adecco, Intercom Group, Opel, Iberostar, Grupo Pascual, Ricoh, Loewe, Campofrío, Lilly, Vodafone, Gilead, Six Senses (Thailand), Banesto, Larrain-Vial (Chile), ISS (Denmark), Telesp (Brazil) and Movistar (Argentina, Chile and Central America).
He is a member of the boards of directors of Six Senses Luxury Resorts & Spas (Thailand), Altia Consultores, Corporación Financiera ARCO and Ecointegral, among others. He also sits on the advisory boards of Oxford Leadership Academy (United Kingdom), IBS (Mexico), VipScan (Madrid) and Abypersonalize (Madrid), and is a patron of the NMAC Contemporary Art Foundation.
The journal Actualidad Económica has recognized him three times in its ranking of the 100 best business ideas of the year. According to the Institute for International Research, three out of four managers consider him the best guru in Spanish management and the publication Who’s Who in Spanish Management described him as one of the most influential figures in the field.
